Recent raid of the Independent Trade Union of Radio Electronic Industry immediately caused a reaction of the democratic community.
“We have contacted the foreign partners of Lukashenka. We drew their attention to what happens when they make concessions,” said politician Mikalai Statkevich.
The special meeting in Minsk was attended by representatives of well-known political and public organizations. The main question is how to prevent the destruction of a community that actively helps to protect the rights of Belarusians.
“Today, we have adopted a statement against the actions of the authorities and in support of independent trade unions. We decided to hold several protests against the brutal actions of the authorities,” shared their plans politician Uladzimir Nyaklyaieu.
The situation remains extremely serious.
Accountant Ihar Komlik remains in pre-trial detention center.
Not so long ago, the chairman of REP Henadz Fedynich was released after questioning. Previously, he was detained by the Department of Financial Investigations, disguised as plumbers. The head of the union had his property distrained.
Henadz Fedynich and Ihar Komlik are facing up to seven years in prison and confiscation of property. They are currently involved in the case of tax evasion.
According to the Belarus State Control Committee, leaders of the organization opened, on behalf of the trade union, accounts in foreign banks. Allegedly. they did it for personal enrichment. Mr Fedynich strongly denied this.
The authorities are taking revenge for social parasite protests.
In addition to REP representatives, there was also detained and questioned the chairman of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions Alyaksandr Yarashuk. Belarusian democratic community members have no doubt that this case is completely political. They say, the authorities took revenge on independent trade union for the current social parasite protests among other things.
Human rights activists and politicians are talking about the planned attack on the independent trade unions in order to prevent a new wave of protests, which may begin in the autumn. The searches took place not only in Minsk, but also in Salihorsk, at the regional office of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union, as well as in the apartments of trade unionists.
