Belarus' external debt comes to $14 bn


As of 1 May 2017 Belarus’ external national debt reached $13.9 bn, the Finance Ministry reports.

Since January, it has grown by $258.5 mln (1.9%)

In January-April 2017 Belarus made foreign loans to the amount of $530.3 mln, including $300 mln borrowed from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD), $160.7 mln from the Russian government and banks, $32.2 mln from Chinese banks, $34.6 mln from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), and $2.8 mln from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB).

According to the Finance Ministry, the internal debt decreased by BYN 0.3 bn (3.3%) from the beginning of the year and totalled BYN 9.9 bn as of 1 May 2017.
