Lukashenka’s regime released four political prisoners

A Young Front activist, Ales Kirkievich was released from a prison camp yesterday evening, informed prison administration. Andrei Protasienya, who was held in a prison camp in Bobruysk, called his family and friends to inform them he was discharged. Two other political prisoners are Alekh Khnedchyk and Zmitser Darnin.

„ The convicted people said they repented, admitted their guilt, recognized the illicit nature of their actions and stated their readiness to comply strictly with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus in future.“ – informed presidential press services on the official website.

Human rights activists expected that a former presidential candidate Zmitser Vus will be released from prison too. However, his wife informed that the authorities revoked her permission to visit Zmitser, after he refused to sign a plea for pardon.

On August 11th, Lukashenka pardoned 9 political prisoners.
