The newly-elected President of Ukraine is to swear fealty to the Ukrainian people at Kyiv’s Maidan. Russia’s Putin will not be present at the ceremony.
‘We sent an invitation to the Belarusian head of state. But there have been no reply yet,’ Evgeny Perebiynis, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, told Belsat TV on June, 3.
Andrey Vorobyov, Russia’s temporary charge d’affaires in Ukraine, who is likely to represent the country at the inaugural ceremony, has not still confirmed his attendance.
‘A visit to Kyiv has not been planned so far,’ Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists at a briefing in Moscow.
