Ukrainian military machines and tanks are heading for the town of Sloviansk, Viachaslau Panamarou, a leader of separatists, said.
Representatives of the proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic stated they are getting ready for self-defense, though ready for negotiations, itar-tass reports.
An anonymous coordinator of the ‘defense forces’ told news agency Interfax-Ukraine that there were fights, shooting and explosions near the town of Sloviansk; the buiding of a local council in the village of Andreyevka was on fire. A bit later Nelya Shtepa, Mayor of Sloviansk, told the agency there were pro-Russian protestors from Russia and Crimea in the town.
At the same time, the representative of pro-federalization protesters in Sloviansk denied reports of armed clashes near the city, talking to RIA Novosti.
