A solidarity action with the Belarusian people coincided with the third anniversary of crackdown on peaceful protests after the 2010 presidential elections has been held in the capital of Ukraine.

At EuroMaidan Viachaslau Siuchyk, leader of solidarity movement Together!, appealed to the demonstrators. According to him, the Belarusians are going to Kyiv because they hope that Belarus will build democracy at the tail of Ukraine.

Then a group of Belarusian and Ukrainian activists headed to Belarus’s embassy to Ukraine to hand over a written request for release of all the Belarusian political prisoners and holding a free election. About 600 persons, mainly young people, took part in the march.

Famous Ukrainian singer Ruslana addressed to the Belarusians calling them to ally in the struggle for their future.

‘Brothers Belarusians, don’t wait that anybody will step into the breach. Truth always belongs to common people. Don’t trust politicians, a lot of them are wrong. The politicians are often far from pursuing common people’s interests, that is why you should always figure out whose side they are on but put your faith into commin people. There is no other truth in this life,’ she says.
