Discussion and film presentation in Prague


Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy, Belsat TV director, was a distinguished guest at the meeting “Belsat TV and Civil Society Formation in Belarus” organised by the Polish Institute in Prague and Czech NGO “Člověk v tísni” (People in Need).

The meeting was held on March 20, 2013 in the the Polish University in Prague. Petruška Šustrová, one of the most renowned Czech dissidents of 80s and press secretary of Charter’77, was taking part in the meeting as well. After the collapse of communism she became Deputy Minister of Interior; at the moment she is engaged in translation activities along with social and political journalism. Ms Šustrová is Honorary President of NGO “Civic Belarus”.

The discussion touched the premiere of film Viva Belarus in Prague at international film festival Febiofest. Belsat’s documentaries Fear in a Peaceful Land, (directed by Karsiaryna Bortnik) and Death Penalty (directed by Siarhei Isakau) were shown before the meeting.
