Viktar Hanchar

The Belarusian Investigative Committee has resumed the investigation into the disappearance of Viktar Hanchar, a former head of the Central Election Commission, and his friend, businessman Anatol Krasouski, on 16 September 1999, Deutsche Welle reports.

On January 3, the apartment of the Belarusian human rights activist Aleh Volchak was searched. The police were looking for traces of a woman who was an acquaintance of his brother. However, Volchak names the house-checks unfair and demands an apology.
