Belarusians will receive this award for the first time in history

Twelve people involved in the so called student case have already started serving their sentences in penal colonies, the human rights centre Viasna reports.

The convicts in the so-called students’ case has started to be transferred to penal colonies after their appeals were dismissed, human rights centre Viasna reports.

On July 16, Savetski district court of Minsk announced guilty verdicts in the so called students case.

The hearing of the so called students case continued in Savetski district court of Minsk on July 9.

On Monday, Maskouski district cou of Minsk considered a case against TUT/BY journalist Lyubou Kaspyarovich. She was found guilty of unauthorised picketing (Article 24.23 of the Code of Administrative Offences), the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) reports.

On May 14, Kastrychnitski district court of Minsk started hearing the so called students’ case, in which twelve arrestees are to be tried. Today the riot police have dispersed the people who came to show support for the defendants. At least 14 people were detained.
