Political prisoner and activist Ihar Bantser has been released on Friday. He was sentenced to 1.5 years of restriction of liberty, and the term has expired today, human rights centre Viasna reports.

Political prisoner Ihar Bantser was to be freed from the disciplinary cell on December 15, but according to the human rights centre Viasna, the punishment was extended for two days, until his release. The musician is expected to go at large on December 17.

According to our own information, Ihar Bantser, a punk rock musician and activist from Hrodna, has been released from a punitive unit after spending a total of 40 days in complete isolation. The man had no right to receive food parcels there.
