An online conference on the Belarusian issue was initiated by the United Nations and backed by the diplomatic missions of the United States, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Germany, Poland.

“The international community should force the authorities of this country to respect human rights.”

On July 1, UN experts demanded that Belarus refrain from violence against peaceful protesters ahead of 9 August presidential elections. They also urged the authorities to abandon its policy of arbitrary arrests, violence and intimidation against civil society activists.
