Information that Deputy Head of Ukraine’s National Police Vadim Troyan supposedly organized surveillance of the journalist Pavel Sheremet has not been confirmed.
“We inform you that according to the results of the official investigation, information about the possible involvement of the First Deputy Chairman Vadim Troyan in the illegal tracking of the Heads of Internet publication “Ukrainian Truth” Pavel Sheremet and Olena Prytula has not been confirmed,” said a police report.
Ukrainian journalist of Belarusian origin Pavel Sheremet was killed on July 20 in the center of Kyiv. The unknown man and woman laid explosives in the car of his common-law wife Olena Prytula. Law enforcers said that the explosives were detonated by a radio-controlled device. The investigation involved Ukrainian investigators and FBI experts.
