Belarus continues to check its army’s combat readiness. Gathering points are set up in Belarusian cities and towns; reservists are sent to military garrisons in Minsk, Vitsebsk and Mahiliou regions.

Draft notices are directly sent to receivers’ places of work. To ensure the effectiveness of the call, the authorities enlisted not only military office employees, but also the police. A reservist has only a few days to pack. Some were immediately taken to garrisons.

On February 7, the pontoon and bridge battalion of the 188th Engineer Brigade was put on full combat alert, The Belarusian Military Newspaper reports. The battalion was marching and spanning the Dnieper river for the units participating in exercises at Asipovichy training groundi. On February 8, the Air Forces’ fighter base was on red alert position.

The 103rd Airborne Brigade received the task to advance in the direction of Lepel training ground. More than 60 units of equipment and 250 servicemen were involved in the night exercise, tvr.by says.

According to the Belarusian Defense Ministry, the aims of the reserve training are a comprehensive combat readiness check and getting ready for performing a number of tasks.
