In Minsk, two rallies were held simultaneously on Independence Square: the March of Wisdom and the action of Lukashenka’s supporters.
For the third Monday in a row, elderly people have come out to protest against the policy of Alyaksandr Lukashenka. As our correspondent informs, about 2,000 people took part in the March of Wisdom in Minsk.
Lukashenka’s supporters announced a similar rally. Already the day before, there were many messages on social networks that the organizers were looking mainly for veterans of the security forces who were ready to take part in a rally in support of the authorities.
At the march, older people chant “Shame!” to security officials.
Pensioners were moving towards Victory Square. Police minivans arrived, police warned the protesters against getting on the roadway.
Nina Bahinskaya also went to the March of Wisdom.
People are chanting: “(Take) Lukashenka to the paddy wagon!”
The protest action of pensioners on October 12 ended with the police using flash grenades and gas.
The March of Wisdom protesters met with the participants of the pro-government rally on Victory Square.
Participants of the Wisdom March gathered at Yakub Kolas square and sang Kupalinka.
People laid flowers at the monument to Yakub Kolas and gradually dispersed.
A girl was detained at the March of Wisdom. She gave a lift the elderly after the march.
