Who opened fire on Pravy Sector leader's car in Donbas? Belsat's exclusive story

Belsat TV reveals a story told by an eyewitness to shooting at Dmytro Yarosh, the leader of Ukraine’s party ‘Pravy Sector’ (The Right Sector), who was wounded on Wednesday.

A Pravy Sector fighter (nom-de-guerre Anarchist) said that Yarosh was going by car in a convoy (watch our video with English subtitles).

“We were driving in procession of three cars. My car was leading, Dmytro Yarosh was in the second car. [The enemy’s ] BM-21 launch vehicles brought fire down on us. We were heading for our brothers, they are in the army, we needed to settle our matters,”he said.

“Yarosh’s car was hit thrice. The fact that all people are alive is a miracle, the hand of God. As for the car, very little remained of it. Yarosh’s right arm is severely injured, he lost much blood, his head, face and neck also got injured.”

“Yarosh remained absolutely cool. The first thing he asked about after the incident was whether somebody else was injured. He also asked where his sub-machine gun was and whether he would be able to shoot. I was singing Ukrainian songs so that he didn’t lose consciousness and he was singing along as well,” the fighter said.

A year ago Pravy Sector played a significant role in protest at Kyiv’s Maidan that resulted in Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich’s fleeing and sheltering in Russia’s Rostov-on-Don. The party’s members and supporters are actively fighting against (pro-)Russian military in Donbas.
