‘We love prophet Mohammad’: Chechnya’s Grozny protesting against cartoons

Over 500,000 people are chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ at a rally in the Chechen city of Grozny today.

The participants are protesting against drawing cartoons of prophet Mohammad. They are carrying banners “Hands off our prophet!”, “Prophet Mohammad is the best man”, etc.

“Islam is a religion of light. It teaches us to live in concord with all the nations of our country, with representatives of other religions. We do practise what the holy Koran preaches,” Ramzan Kadyrov, head of the Chechen Republic, said in his address to compatriots.

It is to be recalled that this peace lover has recently said in an interview to Russian TV channel NTV that he is ready to quit his position and fight against ‘shaitans’ in Donbas. So called ‘Kadyrovites’ (Kadyrov’s guard) take part in the undeclared Russo-Ukrainian war on the side of pro-Russian militants.
