Use of cryptocurrency in Belarus' internal business not on agenda - PM

Аndrey Kabyakou

The use of cryptocurrency in internal business is not on the agenda for now, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrey Kabyakou said at a plenary session of the international forum Digital Agenda in the Era of Globalization in Almaty.

“We do not consider the use of cryptocurrency in our internal turnover at the moment. This issue is not on the current agenda. We have just regulated the relations in regard to the main instruments, such as the blockchain technology, mining, and the use of cryptocurrencies. I would like to emphasize, however, that we are doing this within the framework of the regulatory platform, which is the Hi-Tech Park. If it works well there, we will think how to implement the novelties in our domestic market,” the prime minister said.

Kabyakou also called upon the EAEU countries to work together in the field of digitalization.
