The Embassy of Ukraine in Minsk has informed that soon the Ukrainian television channel UATV Channel would appear in the cable networks of Belarusian operators. The relevant decision was passede by the Minister of Information Alyaksandr Karlyukevich. Belarusian viewers will also be able to watch “KazakhTV” and “Khabar 24”.
The information about Ukrainian TV channel broadcast in Belarus first appeared in 2014. The agreement was reached during a meeting of Petro Poroshenko with Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Igor Kizim expressed hope that the channel would be launched by 2019.
The diplomat said that all the necessary procedures had been completed. Today, only one technical moment awaits its solution. But in February of last year, the case was suspended due to the position of the Ministry of Information of Belarus.
