Ukrainian TV in Belarus: negotiations continue

Talks about the Ukrainian channel broadcasts in Belarus are continuing, said the Belarusian ambassador in Kyiv Valyantsin Vyalichka in an interview with news agency Ukrainian News.

“The work continues. This project requires balance. It is necessary to solve the issue of financing. In life, it happens like this: if you did something quickly, but poorly, everyone will forget that you did it quickly, but if you did it slowly but with high quality, everyone will forget that you did it slowly. Yes, we really want to implement this project, but from the desire to reality there is always some amount of time, which requires detalization,” said Vyalichka.

At the end of last year, the president of Ukraine and Belarus Petro Poroshenko and Alyaksandr Lukashenka agreed on the launch of the Ukrainian broadcast channel (“First National Channel”), naviny.by reports with reference to BelaPAN.

“We have said it times and times again that Belarusians have the right to know the different points of view, and it would be nice if one of the Ukraine information channels had the opportunity to broadcast on the territory of Belarus,” said the leader of Ukraine.

It was expected that the channel would begin work in January.
