Ukraine suspects Belarus in re-exporting Russian fertilizers

Ukrainian customs officers demand that suppliers pay a fee of 42.96% on the import of nitrogen and complex fertilizers arriving from Belarus. As a result, a huge number of freight cars of various operators are stuck at border stations.

The line appeared on December 7th. Moreover, as infoindustria.com.ua reports, most of the products were made in Belarus with a low nitrogen content. But the State Customs Committee requires payment of the anti-dumping duty, regardless of the country of origin.

The antidumping duty of 42,96% was introduced on March 28, 2018 to import nitrogen, complex (NPK) fertilizers, MAP, DAP and other NP-fertilizers, which contain at least 28% ammonium and nitrogen nitrate. The restriction mainly applies to the products of Russian origin, as well as those that do not have documents of origin. At the same time, if the products are manufactured in other countries, including Belarus, there is no need to pay duties.
