Ukraine: music band Scooter facing prosecution

The Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine will summon for questioning the German music group Scooter, which had a gig in the Russia-annexed Crimea.

“The Prosecutor’s Office sent a request to the relevant German authorities to grant international legal assistance in order to questio members of the group,” said a spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Tatyana Tikhonchi on the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.

Earlier, a criminal case under article “Violation of the entry and exit procedure to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was launched against the musicians.

The band played a concert at the ZBFest festival in Sevastopol on Friday, August 4.

‘Scooter illegally arrived in Crimea in spite of our warnings. It’s a pity. Very soon we will have to spoil the good mood of H.P. Baxxter and the company,” Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany Andrey Mlynar commented on Twitter on the news about Germans’ movements.

Before the performance, the frontman of Scooted claimed that the group is outside of politics.

“Very apolitical,” sarcastically wrote the Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany, noting that H.P. Baxxter was met at the airport by three Russian federal TV channels.
