Ukraine imposes sanctions against Russian media managers

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko issued a decree expanding the list of persons under personal sanctions.

This is stated on the site of the head of Ukraine.

It is noted that among the persons on the sanctions list there are the CEO of TV company “First Channel” Konstantin Ernst, Chief Editor of the site Novorus.info Andrei Surkov, the owner of the holding “Pravda.Ru” Vadim Gorshenin, the general director of the news agency “Tass” Sergei Mikhailov, former general director of TV channel “LifeNews” Ashot Gabrelyanov, Chief Editorf of TV channel “Russia Today” Margarita Simonyan.

The sanctions have been imposed against “individuals creating real and potential threats to national interests, national security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, promote terrorist activities and violate the rights and freedoms of citizens, lead to the occupation of the territories and create obstacles to the full realization of the rights and freedoms of citizens of Ukraine”.

Overall the list of people subject to Ukrainian sanctions includes 17 names. Persons who are on the list will not be issued visas to Ukraine and will not be allowed into Ukraine.
