UEFA Euro to be moved to 2021 - L'Equipe

UEFA has decided to reschedule the 2020 European Football Championship for the next year over the coronavirus threat, the French media outlet L’Equipe reports with reference to sources in the organisation.

However, the football association has not confirmed the report yet.

For the time being, the tournament is expected to be held in 12 UEFA countries from 12 June to 12 July 2020.

On 17 March, the representatives of 55 member countries and the UEFA leadership are to stage a video conference during which, according to L’Equipe, UEFA officials will announce the decision.

Moreover, they are allegedly going to suspend all national championships; the continental championship might be moved to the next year as not all participants in the tournament have completed the qualification process. Some competitions are scheduled for late March whereas the main part of the tournament is to start on June, 12.
