U.S. group to inspect Belarusian military unit


A U.S. group will inspect a military unit of Belarus’ Armed Forces on March 2-5, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said on its Telegram channel.

The inspection will be conducted in line with the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty. It is supposed to verify whether the amount of weapons and military hardware on site, which is limited by the treaty, state-run news agency BelTA reports.

As reported earlier, Belarus and the United Kingdom started joint military drills on March, 1. Belarusian peacekeeping forces and a unit of British Royal Marines will be training together for two weeks. The exercise is aimed at preparing a peacekeeping company of the 103rd Vitsebsk separate airborne brigade for participating in United Nations peacekeeping activities.
