The traditional Knight Festival took place on the Castle Hill in Mstsislau, a Belarusian town that is rich with military history.

In September, defense buildings and constructions in the style of the former Mstislavsky wooden castle were built and renovated, and the festival was held not on the empty hill, but within the walls of the castle.

The two-day festival program included tilting contests, horse riding, various sports competitions, archer’s workshop, performances, fire and flag shows, concerts and even a makeshift arson attack on the castle.

What the attenders liked the most was the interactive horse show ‘Under the banners of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania’, during which the cavalry and foot troops led by Prince Vytautas entered into battle and defeated the Teutonic Order.
