According to unofficial information, several senior executives of JSC Belarusbank, including its executive director Anatol Bahavik, have been arrested.
Last week the bank’s employees learned about what had happened, independent news agency BelaPAN reports with reference to its own source. Law enforcement agencies, in particular the State Security Committee (KGB), have not commented on the situation yet.
In June 2016, the KGB arrested Henadz Haspadaryk, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank, who was reportedly taking a bribe of $14,000.
The recent arrests are believed to be connected with his case.
