Two Belarusians carrying 6 kg of cocaine detained in Nepal


Last week, 21-year-old Belarusian citizens Alina A. and Pavel V. were detained at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. They attempted to smuggle 6 kg of cocaine, Nepal’s Narcotics Control Bureau reports.

The two Belarusians were carrying three kg cocaine each. According to The Himalayan Times, the drug was found in the linings of eight winter jackets during an X-ray screening of suitcases,

The duo was about to board a Cathay Pacific Airways flight to Hong Kong.

When being interrogated by the local police, the detainees claimed that two Bolivian citizens handed the cocain to them during their meeting at a hotel. They came to Nepal from Turkey on December 19; on the same day, the Bolivians arrived in Kathmandu.
