Two attacks in row: Pro-Russian hackers going after after Belarus officials?

A strange message has appeared on Tuesday morning on the official Facebook profile of the Belarusian Investigative Committee.

“According to the expectations of the Russian side under imprimatur of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus is withdrawing its representative and will no longer participate in the Interdepartmental Commission on security in the information sphere,” the post reads.

The Investigative Committee has confirmed that their page was hacked.

“Our Facebook page has been hacked this morning. All that has been published today and might be published soon is untrue. Currently, we are trying to restore access to our profile,” the agency reports

Notably, a Twitter account of Maksim Ryzhankou, deputy chairman of the Presidential Administration, was hacked a day earlier: in a number of tweets, unknown individuals posted apologies to the Russian side for Belarus’ action in the field of information security.

The two cyber attacks might have been committed by the same hacker.
