Trolling or flipflop? Lukashenka repeats himself welcoming Putin, Poroshenko

There is bilateral trust between Ukraine and Belarus, as well as between the leaders of the countries, Petro Poroshenko told Alyaksandr Lukashenka on Friday.

He expressed confidence that the trust would guarantee the security, reliability, friendship and cooperation.

“The borderline between Belarus and Ukraine should be exclusively the territory of peace, friendship and security. We both are doing our utmost,” Poroshenko said.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka warmly welcomed his Ukrainian counterpart in Homiel which is hosting the Forum of regions of Belarus and Ukraine.

“You probably feel that it [Homiel] is no different from Ukrainian cities. This is natural, because the border is near at hand. many Ukrainians, citizens of Ukraine live here,” Lukashenka said.

Interestingly, two weeks ago, Alyaksandr Lukashenka made a similar compliment to Vladimir Putin who was allending the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in the city of Mahiliou. According to Lukashenka, Mahiliou is not only Belarusian, but also a Russian city as ‘it is situated not far from the Russian border’.
