Thirty road maps agreed, 31st postponed to 2023, RBC reports

Discussion of the 31st road map for the integration of Belarus and Russia will take place after the implementation of the remaining 30 maps – that is, not until 2023, RBC reports with reference to its own sources.

Spokesman for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov confirmed that all but one of the maps had been agreed upon, but it’s possible to start implementing the remaining 30 maps without it. Signing of the 31st map has been postponed.

On December 24, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said in an interview with Echo of Moscow that the 31st integration map is a plan to construct supranational bodies (including the parliament and, probably, the introduction of the post of the Union State president).

RBC sources, familiar with the negotiations between Moscow and Minsk, claim that the creation of supranational bodies “at this stage” is out of the question. At least because of time frames: the shortest term of completion of the most simple road maps is 2021. Others require even more time: until 2023 or even 2024. Therefore the prospects of creating supranational bodies or the single emission center are remote.
