Taxi drivers protesting in Hrodna (video)

Dozens of Hrodna taxi drivers have appealed to the local Executive Committee.

This is how the taxi drivers expressed their attitude to the mandatory installation of tax service unit in cars. This is done without the consent of the taxi drivers and at their expense: The unit will cost 3,5-4 million Br, and its subscription service costs Br 75 thousand monthly.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]”We want to convey to the authorities that it is unacceptable for us,” says Syarhei Verameyenka, one of the activists of the initiative. – “We are not able to pay for their new controls units. They came up with them — let them pay!”

Another innovation is obligatory bank cards terminals in each car. Resolution about this came into effect on January 1, 2016, but tax taxi drivers have not yet been fined for the absence of the device, so many have not yet faced the problem.

At the same time, the drivers are forced to acquire Russian terminals costing 4 million rubles, not Polish, for example, which can be purchased from … 5 euros. As proof, taxi drivers attached to the appeals copies of pages of Polish online auctions.

“In Hrodna there are many taxi drivers, no one really counted them,” continues Verameyenka. – “Only one radio channel through which people gathered and discussed things has more than 1,000 people. Therefore, several thousand will be protesting. Imagine how many dissatisfied there are.”

Taxi drivers agreed to reconvene in a week – on Monday, March 28 at 12:00
