Alexievich became the winner of the “New Culture of New Europe” award after Stanislaw Wincent (Polish novelist and essayist).
The award is presented within the framework of the Economic Forum, which is traditionally held in the Polish city of Krynica-Zdroj.
Winner of the award can be a person or an institution that promotes the culture of Central and Eastern Europe. Remuneration is 40,000 PLN (about € 9,500).
