According to preliminary data, the Russian Su-30 fighter that crashed the other day in the Tver region was accidentally shot down by another aircraft during an exercise. This is reported by TASS with reference to a source in the emergency services.
The plane crashed on September 22 during a training flight. The crew ejected and survived. The condition of the pilots is said to be satisfactory.
No one was hurt on the ground either.
The Su-30 is a Russian 4+ generation multipurpose fighter. It has been produced since 1992 and is designed to destroy air and ground targets, as well as maintain air superiority. It was delivered to many countries of the world, took part in the operation of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria.
