The Ukrainian authorities are set to strengthen the position of the state in the information war, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

“We have developed a launch option for the Ukrainian Russian-language channel, with which we will be able to cover the Russian-speaking population all over the world,” the news agency quotes Tymoshenko.

In his opinion, the media outlet will contribute to Ukraine’s struggle for both for the minds of Ukrainians in the occupied areas of Donbas and Crimea, and for those of Russians in the territory of the Russian Federation.

President Zelensky’s team wants the would-be TV station to be state-run, but they might gain rights for the best media products made by private channels, Tymoshenko added.
