Son of Russia’s notorious prosecutor works in Belarus, buddies up with Viktar Lukashenka

Artyom Chaika, President of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ILAC) and a son of Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika, was appointed deputy chairman of the Economic Board attached to the Russian Ambassador to Belarus.

Opening the meeting of the board, Mikhail Babich, Russia’s envoy and Vladimir Putin’s special representative on the development of trade and economic cooperation with the Republic of Belarus, stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations between the two countries, the need for greater integration of national economies and business relations, joint implementation of projects on entering the markets of third countries.

In this context, its deputy chairman Artyom Chaika, a son of the notorious prosecutor and business baron, calls attention to himself.

In April, Viktar Lukashenka, the Belarusian president’s eldest son, and Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich attended the opening of the motobike season H.O.G. Spring Challenge 2018. Russian First Nonmetallic Company, Pomegranate Wellness Spa Hotel and Potidea Palace Hotel are listed as the sponsors of the event. All the assets belong to Artyom Chaika, who also heads the biker club H.O.G. Iron Birds which has repeatedly participated in such festivals in Minsk. He is on friendly terms with Viktar Lukashenka who is a great fan of motorcycling.

“The Iron Birds has its five-year history; it stems from the friendship between the fraternal peoples of Russia and Belarus. Artyom Chaika and Viktar Lukashenka were ideological inspirers of the movement,” topgearrussia.ru reports.

It is noteworthy that the Belarusian Interior Ministry awarded Artyom Chaika with the badge ‘For Assistance’.

In 2015, Russian oppositionist Alexei Navalny‘s anti-corruption fund published a 44-minute video about the business empire of Yury Chaika and his sons, Artyom and Igor. The politician claims that the Chaika brothers have repeatedly offended against the law. The fund’s independent investigation into the case took up 1.5 years.
