Russia’s State Duma is considering a bill which provides for imposing travel restrictions on employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) even after the discharge from service.
Currently, former FSB officers are prohibited from going abroad if they had access to classified information.
The draft bill is of the authorship of the pro-Putin United Russia deputies and members of the security and anti-corruption commitees.

According to the projected law, FSB officers should not leave Russia for five years after their dismissal or retirement.
The group of authors failed to cite any examples of arresting former FSB officers in foreign countries. It is also unclear why they agreed on a five-year term.
