Russian government bans exports of masks, boot covers and cottonwool

The Russian government has decided to introduce a temporary ban on the export of medical products from the country including masks, respirators, suits of chemical protection, boot covers and bandages. The decision has been published on the Russian government website.

It is noted that the decision to restrict the export of medical products was taken “in order to protect the interests of Russian citizens”. The export ban will remain in force until June 1.

The list of banned items for export includes: medical gloves, gowns, overalls, respirators, shoe covers, masks, bandages, cotton, gauze, chemical protection suits and anti-plague suits.

The Government decree explains that the ban on the export of these products does not apply to international humanitarian assistance or to “export by individuals for personal use”.
