Russian Attorney General's Office in favor of lighter punishment for Pavel Ustinov

The Prosecutor General’s Office has asked for the sentence of the actor Pavel Ustinov convicted for the use of violence against a representative of the authorities for 3.5 years in the colony to be changed.

Deputy Prosecutor of the Russian Federation has advocated for the change of the sentence to a non-custodial one. The agency considers Ustinov’s guilt proven but the court decision to be “too harsh”.

Deputy Prosecutor General Yuri Ponomarev sent an appeal to the Moscow City Court, TASS reports.

Head of Rosgvardia Viktor Zolotov believes that a year of probation would be enough for the actor Pavel Ustinov.

The actor was detained on August 3 in Pushkin Square in Moscow during the protest for free elections.
