This was reported by Alexander Novikov, the head of the Directorate for Construction and Development of the System of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
Since 2013, when this unit was launched, services of unmanned aircraft appeared in each military district, unit and body.
According to Novikov, since the beginning of the military operation in Syria in 2015, Russian drones have carried out more than 23,000 tasks.
“The use of unmanned aircraft has ensured the effective use of precision weapons during the destruction of the infrastructure of international terrorists,” Major General Novikov said.
Novikov stressed that in the near future the number of drones in the army will increase significantly.
