Russian Ambassador to Minsk Dmitriy Mezentsev has said that Russia and Belarus could find optimal solutions to oil and gas issues in the near future, TASS reports.
“Despite certain differences in the approaches of the parties, the best solutions that will suit the partners should be found in the near future, which will also confirm the scale and practice of bilateral cooperation on oil and gas,” he said.
Mezentsev also said that the Russian side will take into account the request of Belarus and is ready to compensate for the damage caused last year to the Belarusian oil refinery as a result of the supply of poor quality raw materials.
“In accordance with the request and documented losses incurred by the Belarusian refineries in connection with the supply of poor-quality oil in 2019, the Russian side is ready to compensate for the damage. This position also shows commitment to allied relations,” he said.
