Russia: No exchange rates info on street boards anymore


Amendments to the law On Currency Regulation and Currency Control by Russian approved by resident Vladimir Putin has been published on the official legal information portal.

In accordance with the new provisions, it is forbidden to place information about currency exchange rates on boards in the streets.

The bill was passed on December 5 gaining the majority of the State Duma deputies.

It is the Central Bank of Russia that came forward with such initiative. According to the top bankers, private exchange offices use street boards to attract more people while big banks have information about currency rates indoors.
