Russia: Hard landing in Khabarovsk Krai. FSB general dead


A helicopter crash-landed in Tuguro-Chumikansky district, near Nikolayevsk-on-Amur.

“The passengers managed to evacuate before the helicopter caught fire. On the way to the nearby hunting lodge, one kilometer from the place of the incident, one person suffered a heart attack which caused his death,” the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

According to the Interfax news agency, the deceased (born in 1946) was a General of the Federal Security Service (FSB) who also worked for Sibur company. He came to Khabarovsk Krai from Moscow.

Among the passengers there was a local businessman whose name has not been reported. He got a serious back injury. The third passenger was Sergei Melnichenko, the owner of industrial plants in Amur region.

Rostransnadzor and the Investigative Committee of Russia are probing into the accident.
