According to the picketers, they do not want to be just ‘flowers of a work team’, but remain critical of the wording ‘A woman must…’ They advocate for equality and solidarity. Their main aim is to ‘bring back to the memory of, first of all, women what kind of holiday we celebrate on March, 8’.

“The best way to mark the day is to realize how much we have yet to achieve and take to the streets together,” they said on Facebook.

The women push for solving of the problem of discrimination; freedom from sexism; introducing measures to confront domestic violence and adopting appropriate laws; minimizing the salary gap and so on.

Men sharing feminist views are also welcomed at the event, the activists stressed.
