A big banner depicting Russian president Vladimir Putin and captioned ‘peacemaker’ was draped along the side of the Manhattan Bridge in New York.

The portrait was removed by police officers. “I do not know exactly how long it was there, but not particularly long,” NYPD spokesperson Michael DeBonis said.

“We do not know who did it. No arrests have been made,” DeBonis told Kremlin-run news agency TASS.

In the course of Putin’s 17-year-rule, apart from being in the second Chechen war started, Russia unleashed conflicts in South Ossetia, Georgia, Donbas, annexed Crimea and started a military operation in Syria. U. S. general Mark A. Milley has recently warned that a future war with Russia or China would be ‘intensely lethal, the likes of which the United States Army has not experienced… since World War II’.

Today Putin The ‘Peacemaker’ turns 64.
