Putin urges UK to forget Skripals poisoning case

The Russian president suggested that the UK forget about the story of the ex-GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter’s poisoning, Reuters reports.

“We need to finally turn this page related to spies, with encroachments,” Putin said at a meeting with heads of news agencies at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

Putin said the following about the accusations of London in the SKripals’ poisoning by the Russian special services:

“He is your agent, not ours, which means you were spying on us. What happened next with him is hard for me to say, but we should finally forget all this.”

In response, the British government said that relations between London and Moscow could improve only if Moscow changed its aggressive and destabilizing behavior.
