‘Putin Is A Thief’. Anti-Kremlin challenge in Russian schools


Russian students launched an anti-Kremlin challenge in support of tenth-graders from Krasnoyarsk Krai. It has immediately gone viral.

The wave of web posts has beens triggered by the situation that took place on November 12 in the scool of the Russian village school of Tayozhny. When a tenth-grader wrote Putin Is A Thief on the blackboard, their history teacher threatened to call the police and reminded that ‘in certain times’ the punishment for such an act was death.


The challenge began on the Russian social media platform VKontakte when the Stalingulag community posted a photo taken in one of the schools in the town of Gusinoozyorsk (Buryatia). By the moment, under the post has been liked more than 2,500 times and viewed 50,000 times.

Persons from throughout Russia joined the challenge. For example, Krasnoyarsk students decided to make a joke: they wrote Putin Is A Thief when putting down the solving of a problem in physics.
