Putin and Lukashenka to meet on February 7

Head of Belarus Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet at the end of this week, the head of Belarus said during a visit to Dobrush paper mill, Telegram-channel reports.

“Most likely, we’ll meet with President Putin on February 7. A certain moment of truth has come. We were the initiators of this relationship, I don’t think we should break them,” BelTA quoted Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

The head of Belarus has previously expressed his desire to meet with Vladimir Putin to discuss oil supplies for Belarus.

“I said: alright, let’s not discuss it over the phone. When you are done with you activities — addresses etc., we’ll meet and discuss at the table what we can get to and what we can reach,” said Lukashenka on January 24.
