Provocation ahead of Duda’s visit? Blast near Polish bus in Lviv

On Sunday morning, unknown persons set off a self-made explosive device in a hotel parking lot not far from Ukraine’s Lviv. No casualties are reported.

According to local deputy Igor Zinkevych, the outer surface and a side window of a MAN bus with a Polish number plate were damaged. At the moment of the blast, there were no people in the bus.A criminal case may be opened over the incident.

The provocative act was aimed at spoiling relations between Ukraine and Poland, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin believes.

“I strongly condemn the provocation involving the Polish bus that was on a parking lot near Lviv. No casualties were reported! Someone had persistently been trying to drive a wedge between us and Poland, and disrupt President [of Poland Andrzej] Duda’s visit. We will do our best to investigate this incident. And I’m telling the provocateurs: it won’t work,” the minister said on Twitter.

The meeting of the presidents of Poland and Ukraine is scheduled for December 13 in Kharkiv.
