Europe should not cooperate with Belarusian president Alyaksandr Lukashenka, the organizers of the picket ‘Moscow’s Troyan Horse In Brussels’ believe.

“On November 24 Brussels will host a summit of the Eastern Partnership. Alyaksandr Lukashenka, who is suspected the suspect of murdering Yury Zakharanka and Viktar Hanchar [missing Belarusian politicians. – Approx. Belsat.eu] was invited to participate in the summit,” the protesters say.

In October, the European Union expressed readiness to welcome Belarus president Alyaksandr Lukashenka at the summit. It is the first time he has received a personal invitation to the Brussels. For years, the Belarusian leader had been denied entry to EU member coutries. However, on November 21it became known that Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makey would head the Belarusian delegation at the upcoming event. The reason for such a decision was not given.

According to French Ambassador to Belarus Didier Canesse, a program of cooperation between the EU and Belarus will be adopted at the event.

“Now I cannot go into details, but I can assure you that there will be new elements,” Canesse told TV channel Belarus-1.

Earlier, former political prisoners Mikalai Statkevich and Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu issued an appeal to EU leaders, in which they called Inviting Alyaksandr Lukashenka to the EaP summit in Brussels not just a step in the current EU-Belarus dialogue, but the legitimization of Lukashenka, the legalization of his policy and regime.

The activists are going to stage the rally ‘Where Is Hanchar?’ on the day of the summit.
