Protest action: Belarus entrepreneurs shield opposition leader from police (video)

During Monday’s unauthorized rally in Minsk it has come to a conflict between the police and market vendors who were protesting against Lukashenka’s Decree 222 of March 16, 2014 that canceled the previous benefits in the required package of accompanying documents for the goods and ordered to get for them not only consignment documents, but also a certificate for compliance with the Eurasian Economic Community.

The police officers tried to get to opposition leader Anatol Lyabedzka who was speaking into a loud-hailer, to take the device from him and draw up a report on the politician and the people holding posters.

However, the participants of the action started chanting ‘Shame!’ and threw a security cordon around Mr Lyabedzka.
